If your Private Information was compromised in the data breach announced by First Financial Security, Inc. that occurred on or around October 17, 2023, you may be a Class Member and eligible for Settlement Benefits. Excluded from the Settlement Class are: First Financial Security, Inc., and its affiliates, parents, subsidiaries, officers, and directors, as well as the judge(s) presiding over this matter and the clerks of said judge(s).
If you are a Settlement Class Member and wish to receive one or more benefits, then you must submit a claim form by July 20, 2026.
Medical/Credit Monitoring Services. All Class Members will automatically receive two (2) years of CyEx Medical Shield Complete Medical Data Monitoring services. The Notice you received contains an Enrollment Code. If you no longer have your Enrollment Code, or did not receive it, please contact the Settlement Administrator.
Lost Time. Class Members who spent time responding to the Data Incident may claim up to three (3) hours, at $20.00 per hour (combined with Ordinary Expenses, the combined total is capped at $500.00). You must have spent the time on tasks related to the Data Incident. Please note that the time that it takes to submit a Claim Form is not reimbursable and should not be included in the total. Some examples include things like:
dealing with replacement card issues
reversing fraudulent charges
rescheduling medical appointments and/or finding alternative medical care and treatment
retaking or submitting to medical tests
locating medical records
retracing medical history
any other demonstrable form of disruption to medical care and treatment
Documented Expense Reimbursement. Class Members who incurred actual, documented and unreimbursed out-of-pocket losses due to the Data Incident, can get back up to $500.00 (combined with Lost Time, the combined total is capped at $500.00). The losses must have occurred between October 17, 2023, and July 20, 2026. Some examples include things like:
unreimbursed bank fees
unreimbursed card reissuance fees
unreimbursed overdraft fees
unreimbursed charges related to unavailability of funds
unreimbursed late fees
unreimbursed over-limit fees
long-distance telephone charges
cell minutes (if charged by minute)
internet usage charges (if charged by the minute or by the amount of data usage and incurred solely as a result of the Data Incident)
text messages (if charged by the message and incurred solely as a result of the Data Incident)
unreimbursed charges from banks or credit card companies;
postage, gasoline for travel, and other incidental expenses
interest on payday loans due to card cancellation or due to over- limit situation incurred solely as a result of the Data Incident
costs of credit report(s), credit monitoring, or other identity theft insurance product purchased by Class Members between October 17, 2023, and July 20, 2026
You need to submit proof, like bank statements or receipts, to show how much you spent or lost. Your personal certifications, declarations, or affidavits do not constitute reasonable documentation to make a valid claim, but you may include that to provide clarification, context, or support for other submitted reasonable documentation showing that your expenses were because of the Data Incident.
To start your online claim form, you must login with your LoginID and PIN. You can find your LoginID and PIN on the Notice that was sent to you. If you are unable to locate your ID and PIN, please contact us by emailing info@FirstFinancialSettlement.com. Please request your Login ID and PIN by providing your full name and mailing address.
